PIKOM Digital Excellence Awards 2026 Roadshow at Digital Penang

PENANG, 28 April 2026 – The Penang Roadshow & Launch of the PIKOM Digital Excellence Awards (PDEA) 2026 marked an exciting continuation of momentum following its official kickoff in Petaling Jaya.

PIKOM, the National Tech Association of Malaysia, represents the country’s leading technology industry players and serves as a key platform in driving Malaysia’s digital economy forward. Through initiatives such as the Digital Excellence Awards, PIKOM aims to recognise outstanding achievements in digital innovation, technology adoption, and industry transformation across Malaysia.

Held at Digital Penang, the Penang roadshow brought together industry players, innovators, and ecosystem partners from across the Northern region. The session provided a valuable platform to explore opportunities for showcasing Malaysia’s best digital innovations, particularly as PIKOM celebrates its 40th anniversary milestone this year.

Participants were introduced to key details of the PDEA 2026, including award categories, evaluation criteria, submission process, and practical tips for preparing strong entries. The sharing session helped clarify how organisations—especially SMEs and tech-driven companies—can position themselves competitively in the national digital landscape.

A key highlight of the event was the panel session featuring Mr. Khooi Chu Boon, SME Director of Digital Penang, who shared insights on strengthening Penang’s technology ecosystem. His discussion focused on supporting SMEs in their digital transformation journey and enhancing their online presence to enable sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive digital economy.

Overall, the session reflected strong enthusiasm from the Northern region’s tech community, with growing interest in innovation recognition platforms such as the PDEA. It also reinforced the importance of collaboration between industry bodies, government agencies, and ecosystem enablers in accelerating Malaysia’s digital ambitions.

As the roadshow continues nationwide, initiatives like these are expected to further inspire local innovators and SMEs to step forward, showcase their achievements, and contribute to a stronger, more connected digital ecosystem for Malaysia’s future.
