Digital Penang Launches Eventree.my Online and SME Digital Matching Platform to Strengthen Penang’s Digital Ecosystem
PENANG, 14 August 2026 – Digital Penang has launched two new digital platforms, Eventree.online and the SME Digital Matching Platform, to improve access to digital solutions, events and opportunities across Penang.
The two platforms address different but complementary needs within Penang’s digital ecosystem. The SME Digital Matching Platform helps small and medium enterprises (SMEs) identify suitable digital solution providers, while Eventree Online provides a central platform for discovering and promoting events and activities happening across the state.
Together, the initiatives support Digital Penang’s efforts to create a more connected, accessible and digitally enabled ecosystem for businesses, communities and the public.
Supporting SME Digitalisation in Penang

Alongside the SME Digital Matching Platform, Digital Penang also launched Eventree.my Online, a central digital platform for discovering events and activities taking place throughout Penang.
From business and technology programmes to community and cultural activities, Eventree.my online brings different types of events together in one accessible platform. Users can discover activities including:

- Workshops and training sessions
- Exhibitions
- Cultural events
- Tourism experiences
- Community activities
For event organisers, the platform provides an additional channel to increase the visibility of their programmes and connect with wider audiences. Government agencies, industry players, educational institutions, community groups and other event organisers are also encouraged to submit their programmes to the platform.
“The challenge is often visibility and access. These two platforms are designed to make it easier for people to find what is relevant to them,” said Ts. Ng Kwang Ming, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Penang.

The launch was also accompanied by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange with Kaspersky, marking another step towards strengthening cybersecurity awareness and capacity building within Penang’s increasingly connected digital ecosystem.
As more businesses and communities adopt digital platforms, cloud services, artificial intelligence and other technologies, cybersecurity awareness must develop alongside digitalisation.
