Cutting-Edge AI and Digitalization Seminar At Digital Penang

PENANG, 5 February 2026 – the halls of Digital Penang were buzzing with more than just high-speed fiber. Business owners and industry veterans gathered for the “AI and Digitalization for Penang Businesses” seminar—a high-impact session designed to strip away the “tech-hype” and replace it with actionable, cost-effective strategies for the digital era.

Jointly organized by Digital Penang, PixeVision and ASPL Group, the seminar proved that the ‘factory of the future’ isn’t just for MNCs; it’s within reach for every Penang SME.

The “Lean AI” Revolution: Innovation at Zero Cost
The session kicked off with a provocative keynote from Dr. Eddie Puah, CEO/CTO of PixeVision, titled “The Lean AI Start.” Moving away from the myth that AI requires million-dollar investments, Dr. Puah demonstrated how businesses can kickstart their AI adoption using minimum resources.

The crowd was particularly captivated by the Workflow Automation segment. The PixeVision team conducted live demos on automating mundane administrative tasks. From lead management to instant reporting, the demonstration showed how smart workflows can effectively eliminate hours of manual labor every week at virtually no cost.

Smart Manufacturing & Infrastructure
The technical heavy-lifting was spearheaded by ASPL Group, focusing on the manufacturing sector that serves as the backbone of Penang’s economy. Industry experts Mr. Vincent Tan and Dr. Erik Ng from ASPL Digitalization showcased real-world applications of AI-driven defect inspection and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), effectively bridging the gap between theoretical AI and practical floor-level traceability.

This industrial narrative was further expanded by Mr. Kok Chee Meng, General Manager of ASPL Electrification, who highlighted the modernization of energy management through Digital Switchgear, illustrating how digital hardware monitoring has become a vital catalyst for achieving both peak operational efficiency and long-term sustainability goals.

The event concluded with a critical session on Funding & Grants by Mr. Yee Chee How. For many attendees, the roadmap became clear as they learned how to navigate available digitalization grants, ensuring that financial barriers don’t stall their technological progress.
