Kuala Lumpur, 24th September 2025 – Launch of the Angel Investment Accelerator Programme
Digital Penang, in collaboration with the Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN), officially launched the Angel Investment Accelerator Programme at the MBAN Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. The initiative is designed to nurture a new generation of angel investors while bridging the funding gap for early-stage startups.
The three-month accelerator will deliver structured training, mentoring, and deal-flow opportunities for aspiring and existing investors. By cultivating a skilled pool of local angel investors, the programme aims to fuel innovation, attract entrepreneurial talent, and strengthen Penang’s role as a hub for startup growth and investment.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable investment ecosystem for Penang and Malaysia’s digital economy, benefiting startups, businesses, investors, and the future workforce.

George Town, 23rd September 2025 – China Entrepreneurs Courtesy Visit to Digital Penang
Digital Penang welcomed a delegation of 80 Chinese entrepreneurs on a courtesy visit, fostering stronger collaboration in innovation and sustainable development. Mr. Khooi Chu Boon, Director of SME & Community Building, shared about Digital Penang’s role in driving the state’s digital transformation and growth opportunities.
We were honored to host Mr. Liu Wei, Chairman of the Beijing International Exchange Association’s Sustainable Development Committee, along with Miss Tan, Event Organizer of the Penang International HanWang Forum. A special thanks to Ms. Chow Ayi Lian, CEO of Sat Navigation Sensing and Communications Sdn Bhd, for bringing this collaboration together.
