20 February 2024, George Town – Digital Penang, a Government-Linked Company (GLC) established by the Penang State Government, announces a strategic partnership with Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN) Penang Chapter and MYStartup to introduce the ‘StartupPenang500’ programme. In line with the Penang2030 vision to create 500 startups, this initiative signifies an enhanced approach to develop local startups in a vibrant ecosystem.
A Complete Package for Early-Stage Startups
The ‘StartupPenang500’ programme is designed as an all-encompassing support package, catering to the unique needs of early-stage technology startups and young founders throughout their entrepreneurial journey. It offers comprehensive guidance to support entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into products or solutions that meet market demands.
Spanning nine months, from March to November 2024, this meticulously curated program empowers young entrepreneurs to refine their ideas, develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and receive one-to-one mentorship provided by industry experts. Complemented by masterclasses geared towards enhancing essential skills, such as effective pitching to investors, the program ensures participants are well-prepared for the challenges of the startup landscape. Outstanding startups within the program also stand the chance to secure a matching market access grant.
Upon successful completion of the programme, the twenty participants will transition into Digital Penang’s advanced programs and network, positioning them for sustained support to grow beyond the Seed stage.
